ABOUT THE PROJECT

The founder of judo Dr Jigoro Kano famously said ‘Judo Builds people’ and as a judoka I am sure you will understand and value the opportunities that judo has given you.

Throughout the World today there are millions of children living in extreme poverty. Children who live without the basic essentials like food, fresh drinking water, medicine, clothes, education or even beds. Children with no opportunities.

At Friends of Judo we believe that everyone deserves opportunities and a chance for a better life and we want to do something to make that happen. In 2012 Friends of Judo will raise funds for “Save the Children” to support children living on the streets in India.

Our aim for the future is to set up projects in the poorest places in the World and provide children with education, food and to let them enjoy and experience judo.

ABOUT THE FRIENDS OF JUDO PACK

When you become a Friend of Judo you will receive a members pack which includes a Friends of Judo Badge for your judo-gi, a cool Friends of Judo Wrist Band and a Friend of Judo Certificate. You will be in good company with our Friends of Judo Ambassadors who include judo superstars like Miriam Blasco & Kosei Inoue World and Olympic Champions and of course our patron George Kerr CBE 10th Dan.

£5.00 from every FoJ pack will go directly to Save the Children. The balance from the £12.50 membership fee covers the cost of the pack, marketing and the administration of Friends of Judo.

We think this represents great value for money and it’s the first step in something we believe will change lives.
