Our club President, George Kerr has had perhaps the most incredible year of his life. Over the past 12 months George has received his 10th Dan from the International Judo Federation in recognition for his outstanding contribution to judo. He is one of only 5 men in the World to hold this grade.
George has also been awarded an Honorary Doctorate from Herriot Watt University and the Order of the Rising Sun from the Japanese Government for his contribution to the development of judo and to the development of Scottish Japanese cultural links. Finally his year was complete when he was awarded the CBE from Her Majesty , the Queen.
We are all very proud of George’s achievements. As the President of Sportif Judo George gives our players fantastic support at all levels.
